Boston transplant from the Twin Cities. Moved to Boston for grad school, and now that I'm done with that, I'm still here because of a job. I'd like to meet new people while I start anew so to speak. (I'm also on OkCupid: okcupid/profile/sd75)
My first concert / My dream concert:
My first concert was technically Smokey Robinson but I was too young to really remember it. Then it was Bernadette Peters. But my first real concert in terms of non-classical stuff was Bon Iver. Dream concert: Coldplay and/or Arcade Fire
Obscure knowledge I possess:
The awkward turtle and it's variants, awkward palm trees, awkward starfish, and a few others. Also TMI turkey. haha
I have a weakness for guys/girls who:
Who are aren't fake, but are: witty, have a great sense of humor (that isn't offensive), who are confident and smart, and display nerdiness while still attempting to be cool. And having all this while having some musical tastes in common (HINT HINT: Fellas, it helps if you fill out your FAVORITES section on your profile.)
For me, a first date no-no is:
Not being able to hold up a conversation, or not getting the joke if a joke is out there for the laughing. Awkward silence. Constant cell phone checking. Bringing up the ex(es). You know, that typical stuff that are no-nos. hahaha
A story you should remind me to tell you on our first date:
I have so many stories, so I'm sure I'll be telling a lot of them. I also use hand gestures and sound effects to help enhance my storytelling. Fair warning/nerd alert.
I secretly want to be:
When I was a kid, I always wanted to be a superhero, and kinda have my own secret lair and build gadgets for crime fighting (kinda like Batman). However, when I told this story to my friend, and the way I described it, she said it kinda sounded like I wanted to be the Unibomber...
I want to be with someone who wants to be:
I want to be with someone who wants to be around people; is smart and personable around friends, family and people in general. This person should have goals and aspirations for the next steps in their life, and is willing to take risks and dive into adventure, wherever and whatever that may be. This may be subject to change, but that's what I'm thinkin' should be in this for now. ahahha
