Want 'em someday
Tough to pick just one but some of the most awesome and sublime places I've visited in recent years: Hunder in Ladakh (eastern Himalayas); Tengalle on the south coast of Sri Lanka; Maheshwar and Orchha in northern India; Mirbat in Oman: the Atacama Desert in Chile; Patagonia; drift diving in the Komodo Island chain off a dive boat; and back in Brooklyn, stretched out on my sofa with my dogs curled up beside me.
Read the paper on my stoop with a cup of coffee while my dogs play in the garden. A walk in Red Hook along the waterfront with lobster rolls for brunch.
Blade Runner, Manhattan, the original Star Wars, Apocalypse Now and/or The Big Lebowski. I've also seen the Deer Hunter an unhealthy number of times. Inception and Drive are strangely addictive too.
I've lived, travelled and worked all over the world most of my life. Although I'm European, I consider myself more a New Yorker than a Londoner after more than 10 years here. I've been pretty focused on art, architecture, photography and design both professionally and personally much of my life but I've also worked in boat yards, built film sets and renovated a couple of apartments too, so I'm pretty practical and capable. I have a couple of amazing Dachshunds rescues with outsized personalities.
First real concert, as opposed to moral support for friends' pub gigs, U2's Joshua Tree at Wembley Stadium, London. I've been to a couple of dream concerts: Nina Simone at Ronnie Scotts in London, although she was in a bad mood and played a short set before storming off. Miles Davis in hillside olive grove at the Nice Jazz Festival. The National in Prospect Park - they live nearby and the audience was full of friends so it was a bit of a Brooklyn/Ohio love fest. Bruce Springsteen sing a couple of songs at the Stone Pony for a TV segment when the club was fighting developers.
An acuity for light and chromatics
Have great personal style and energy.
A complete lack of chemistry
My dogs for sure
I prefer to be off the cuff
Secretly being the operative word... maybe a tug boat captain or writing & directing a little movie.
Happy and fun. But when she's pissed off with me, willing to tell me what I've done wrong and how to make things better without leaving me in the dog house guessing.
Dachshunds, street/beach mutts, vintage Danish furniture and lighting
Definitely not quit my job. Renovate my apartment. Buy a cottage on a beach in Brazil or Sri Lanka. Support a couple of animal sanctuaries for dogs, donkeys and cats in south east Asia. Recruit some ex special forces animal lovers to liberate abused animals and (with extreme prejudice) tackle poachers in Asia and Africa - maybe a TV series tie-in (or a great drama!) to raise awareness and funds (that lottery money is starting to wear thin - lucky my mom doesn't need me to buy her a house and I don't need a new car).
I've both her creativity and her curry recipe
Someone as happy to see me as my dogs... they've set the bar pretty high
