How about we… ... hike up Mt. Tamalpais, find ourselves a warm spot with a view of the ocean to watch the sunset while I read "Fup" by Jim Dodge to you - before retreating to Stinson Beach for dinner?

How about we… ...have a candlelight dinner on China Beach (I'll bring the table, chairs, food and of course the candles)

About prettygeek

An awesome place I've visited:

The air - flying my paraglider a few thousand feet over the pacific coastline of Big Sur, along the Eiger North Face or over deep valleys of the Italian Dolomites.

My perfect Sunday:

Could involve anything from staying in bed sipping coffee or tea followed by a prolonged brunch in the afternoon and a fancy dinner in the evening, talking about art, architecture, life and the universe, to flying off a mountain in the Sierra Nevada after having hiked it since the crack of dawn.

My life history in 5 sentences or fewer:

Born in Palo Alto, lived mostly in Germany, traveled a lot throughout my life, left my beloved Berlin for a great gig, back in the Bay Area...

My first concert / My dream concert:

My first concert was seeing The Grateful Dead in Golden Gate Park in 1982, not quite a year old. Not that I could remember it, but there are pictures...

Obscure knowledge I possess:

For a computer scientist I know a bit too much trivia about modernism in architecture and design.

What I would bring to show and tell:

An algorithm, a piano and a paraglider

A story you should remind me to tell you on our first date:

Why and how a rubber farmer in a fairly remote Thai jungle first aimed his double-barrel shotgun at me... only to rescue me afterwards

I secretly want to be:

Changing the world

An infatuation of mine:

Trying to create seemingly magical things with the help of computer science and math

If I won the lottery and quit my job, I would:

...most likely get bored and start something new. Certainly after I traveled a lot, learned a lot, flew a lot, etc.

I want to come home to:

My love, my friend and my piano.
