Middle School Science Teacher
How about we… beat the heat with a glass of sangria.
How about we… Go to the park and teach my new puppy some tricks.
How about we… go to the next secret science club meeting. http://secretscienceclub.blogspot.com/
An awesome place I've visited:
Budapest bathhouse. It was just ridiculous and wonderful culture shock.
My perfect Sunday:
Sleeping in, playing with Sprocket (my puppy), eating amazing food
The movie I've watched the most times:
A tie between The Big Lebowski and Back to the Future
My life history in 5 sentences or fewer:
I grew up in Queens (bordering LI) and shared a room with my older sister until I was 19 (and she was 25) - it's why we're still best friends. Her, along with 3 other girls I met in high school and a gay man I met in college, are my best friends in the world and mean more to me than pretty much anything (except maybe cheese). I was thoroughly convinced that I wanted to be a professor of psychology from high school alllll the way into my 2nd year of my clinical psych PhD, and then had a rapid change of heart and am now a high school biology teacher. I don't regret it for a minute.
Obscure knowledge I possess:
It pops up in odd times. I know a strange amount of tea, algae, the brain, yarn, catnip, the biology of wine, post modern literature, and psychology. I know absolutely nothing about pop culture.
I have a weakness for guys/girls who:
Get excited like a little kid about something they love
For me, a first date no-no is:
texting. One or two is fine (especially if you've got an explanation) - I've been there, too. Try to separate for a bit though.
What I would bring to show and tell:
Probably something I've knit
I secretly want to be:
A neurosurgeon. I have a slight obsession w the human brain and how it works. One day, I may go back for my MD...
I want to be with someone who wants to be:
serious about dating. I know it's a fun website, but I'm not looking for FWB or anything NSA.
An infatuation of mine:
Brian Greene. I <3 geeky intelligence.
If I won the lottery and quit my job, I would:
Get another job in teaching. Seriously, I love what I do.
I want to come home to:
the love of my life and our fabulous pup.
