I grew up in Queens (bordering LI) and shared a room with my older sister until I was 19 (and she was 25) - it's why we're still best friends. Her, along with 3 other girls I met in high school and a gay man I met in college, are my best friends in the world and mean more to me than pretty much anything (except maybe cheese). I was thoroughly convinced that I wanted to be a professor of psychology from high school alllll the way into my 2nd year of my clinical psych PhD, and then had a rapid change of heart and am now a high school biology teacher. I don't regret it for a minute.

Obscure knowledge I possess:

It pops up in odd times. I know a strange amount of tea, algae, the brain, yarn, catnip, the biology of wine, post modern literature, and psychology. I know absolutely nothing about pop culture.
