Art Teacher/Blossoming Illustrator
How about we… Something unusual, something crazy, something outta the way, something FUN....
An awesome place I've visited:
Ecuador in April
My perfect Sunday:
Morning: sleep, roll out of bed, brunch.... the rest is an improv.
The movie I've watched the most times:
anything Monty Python... anything Mel Brooks.... older Woody Allen....Bladerunner...
My life history in 5 sentences or fewer:
Conceived, born, & adopted. Grew up & went to art school for fashion. Moved to NYC, changed careers to art/drama teaching & got happy. Completed a masters degree in cultural anthropology. Exploring the world of graphic novel illustration.
My first concert / My dream concert:
First: Triple header at college, freshman year: Theolonius Monster, Fishbone, Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Obscure knowledge I possess:
I can work a mimeograph machine.
I have a weakness for guys/girls who:
Are smart, witty, compassionate, passionate, centered & sensual.... Creatively oriented.... Have a thing about long fingers & strong hands too.... guess it comes from being an artist & working with my hands a lot, lol. Who decide to contact me at the profile I check more regularly: "dulce38" on okcupid. ;) (yes, I'm too cheap to pay the $ at the moment, ha.)
For me, a first date no-no is:
Checking your cellphone/answering calls/texts incessantly (if not family emergency).... Lateness w/out contact.... Uninvited touchy-feeliness.... Being older than the age listed & not telling me....
What I would bring to show and tell:
My right back shoulder.
I secretly want to be:
In my 20s, professional performer.... (A dream put aside when I made the commitment to full-time teaching) Now, a professional illustrator & published author.... (source of my current endeavors...)
I want to be with someone who wants to be:
With me, for who & as I am, in all my quirky splendor.
An infatuation of mine:
Finding the best pint of craft beer.... Petting random dogs on random streets.... Sketchpads & drawing implements - I've a ridiculous amount of each.
If I won the lottery and quit my job, I would:
do my artwork full-time, start a portfolio/scholarship program for aspiring lower-income teen artists in NYC.
One thing my mother would want you to know about me:
"She likes her men like she likes her margaritas: a perfect blend of tart, sweet & salty."
I want to come home to:
Peace, happiness. And quiet for a little bit cuz, let me tell you, work is LOUD & a wee chaotic (the school life of the art teacher is an oft rambunctious one).
