I love Napa. I'm a huge wine geek and my experience there could not have been more picturesque. I look forward to exploring more West Coast AVAs: chasing sunshine, frolicking through vineyards, and quaffing amazing wines.
My perfect Sunday:
I love to cook, and I'm from Texas -- so nothing makes me happier than donning an apron, pouring up some mimosas or micheladas, and taking the kitchen by storm as I whip up the most incredible Tex-Mex brunch... BUT I require an awesome soundtrack to boogie to while I do my thing. :)
My life history in 5 sentences or fewer:
Born and bred in Austin until I was 25; relocated to Boston and have been exploring a new take on life ever since. I was a super overachiever growing up: competitive athlete, prodigious child violinist, and professional bookworm. I love the depth those experiences have given to my life, but I'm content to be less disciplined and more adventurous as an adult. These days, I glean the most pleasure from my interactions with my insanely awesome friends and, of course, my incredible beagle pup. Also: my heart will always belong in Texas.
Obscure knowledge I possess:
I pride myself on knowing a lot of random things; I pick up bits of trivia everywhere around me daily. But I have a gift for identifying voices -- this ties in with my love of music -- I can identify the artist of almost any song, even those previously unheard before, as long as I'm familiar with one other song by that act. #musicgeek (hashtag. i know. terrible.)
I have a weakness for guys/girls who:
I'll never tell. ;)
For me, a first date no-no is:
no alcohol. Let's be straight here - it just makes things LESS AWKWARD. In turn,, I promise grand adventures after the consumption of a fantastic bottle of wine.
I secretly want to be:
an astronaut. Apparently they have Space Camp for adults now. I'm so signing up first thing tomorrow.
An infatuation of mine:
I have an obscene obsession with wind turbines. I think they are ridiculously gorgeous and majestic. I know it doesn't make sense, but they are completely fascinating to me.
If I won the lottery and quit my job, I would:
travel. Every day, for the rest of my life, without a doubt. I would immediately charter a sailboat and head for the West Indies and BVI, followed by an excursion to Greece and Mykonos, and then jet over to the beaches of Thailand. And that's just the first month or two. I'll hash out my game plan as I go -- but I'm starving to experience the world.
I want to come home to:
my happy-go-lucky little beagle. She absolutely lights up my life with her goofy little face and her merry, unconditionally loving soul. Also -- a kitchen fully stocked with ingredients and booze to cavort in. Finally, laughter. I require laughter just as much as air in order to survive.
