I grew up in Detroit, transplanted with my mom to Alabama when I was 15. Had my first child when I was still a child. I did things the hard way. I'm now 7 mos. away from being an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. I guess that makes me somewhat of a success story.

I have a weakness for guys/girls who:
Can laugh at themselves, have a sarcastic side and can find that amusing in others without being offended, who are comfortable with themselves just the way they are, and who love to learn.
For me, a first date no-no is:
Talk of sex and exes. I'm not a prude by a long shot. I've just got more to bring to the table than that.
