About geekynomad

An awesome place I've visited:

In the moment, I truly feel that every place that I visit is awesome. I haven't made it to Asia, Africa or South America yet, so those are definitely on my to-do list

My perfect Sunday:

A long, boozy brunch followed by a leisurely walk and a nap

The movie I've watched the most times:

I suppose the movies that I've loved since childhood, so probably The Princess Bride and the Star Wars and Indiana Jones Films

My life history in 5 sentences or fewer:

Moved around a lot through the years; MD, CA, PA, Europe, but back in NYC for good since fall 2012. I spent most of HS in San Diego, college in Davis in Northern California, and grad school in Philadelphia.

My first concert / My dream concert:

The band I've seen the most are the Cure, and they are amazing live. I wish that I could have seen the Dead way back in the day

Obscure knowledge I possess:

I taught courses on Austrian cinema for 2 years. Does that count?

I have a weakness for guys/girls who:

Are geeky and funny, and don't take themselves too seriously

For me, a first date no-no is:

Anyone who is rude to waiters, etc.

A story you should remind me to tell you on our first date:

How I shook hands with a mummy

I secretly want to be:

Well, it's not exactly a secret, but I'd like to be spending more time teaching; college, high school, anything

I want to be with someone who wants to be:

fully alive and wants to be with me

An infatuation of mine:

All random facts, especially if they relate to NYC history. Even better if shared during long walks exploring and getting lost

If I won the lottery and quit my job, I would:

Buy myself a lovely place and decorate it, then take time to help out friends/ family and travel for a year or so, before returning to working purely for the fun of it

One thing my mother would want you to know about me:

I'm driven, and will do everything to achieve the things that I truly want

I want to come home to:

A place that's cozy and where I can really relax. Even better if that place includes a partner who makes me happy and a dog and cat to cuddle with
