the plains of Nazca, Peru, Pablo Neruda's house in Santiago, Chile, the Oval Office, a night spent in the Alhambra, la Ste Chapelle, Paris, sailing across the Atlantic from Capetown to Rio, Kyoto, in almost any kitchen, the champagne caves in Epernay, teaching disabled kids to sail in Coconut Grove.
Any day is a great day. The Times crossword, good coffee, brunch with interesting people, a bike ride or sailing, or not planning anything at all.
I'm a huge movie fan, so this is a difficult question. Recently: 2001: A Space Odyssey, Big Trouble in Little China, Double Indemnity, The Third Man, a bunch of Harold Lloyd and Buster Keaton silent films, and a lot of Chinese cinema, as I'm learning the language.
My first concert was the Beatles at Shea Stadium, but I was a baby at the time, so don't remember much.
I won on Jeopardy!, so there's a lot of obscure knowledge I'm lucky (or cursed) enough to possess. The more trivial it is, the more likely I am to know it.
