How about we… travel back in time to the heyday of Egyptian Pharaohs and see who can survive the longest without Bangles' references?

About deshane

An awesome place I've visited:

I made my way up to Watkins Glen, NY to spend a week visiting the animals at Farm Sanctuary when I first went vegetarian. Seeing them in a new light helped cement my opinions and ideals of this new lifestyle of which I had small reservations. In the end, Farm Sanctuary ended up not just being a farm for rescued animals but a place of transformation--for them and for me.

My perfect Sunday:

Sunday morning funnies with my breakfast! A day that's warm--not too cold, not too hot--to spend outside in a park or riding a bicycle around downtown. Having lunch on a sidewalk cafe with a perfect spot to people-watch or read my latest novel from the library. Meeting up with a friend or two later in the afternoon, perhaps we'll catch a movie or stroll around festival of arts/music/crafts! Perhaps we end up exploring the local museums instead. Afterwards, I'll come back home and spend the night relaxing to good music with my faithful companion kitty who pretends he is a better dancer than I.

The movie I've watched the most times:

I wouldn't really know because I don't keep track of how many times I've seen a movie. However, I love the movie Contact starring Jodie Foster. The book by Carl Sagan is infinitely better but I digress. The ideas represented in both movie and book appeal to me because I am always interested in the human psyche and society overall. The concepts that we are not alone in the universe, whether it be by alien species or by a religious presence, tend to fascinate me and a person's own response to those concepts is interesting to me as well.

If I won the lottery and quit my job, I would:

invest a significant portion into the areas I believe in most-- animal rights, human rights, education. I'd also spend each semester attending at least one class in a subject I'd like to know more about. I love to learn and a perfect life would be a life in a school setting soaking up all the knowledge I can possibly take! Most of the classes would center around history and cooking. I would love to travel as well. Russia and Ireland would be my first stops on the world tour.
