How about we… grab coffee and walk around the monuments.
How about we… see the work of the French Impressionists at the Philips Collections.
why am I here?
to be honest, I am not sure. I want to enjoy my time in DC and get to know other folks. I am not exclusively looking at dating but I figured this, in addition to group sports and all that jazz are ways to meet folks. right now, the best way to contact me is through this email: monsalve.alejandra at gmail dot com
An awesome place I've visited:
My perfect Sunday:
1. being out and about. dancing. 2. being semi-productive and evaluating my progress and life strategy 3. catching a movie.
The movie I've watched the most times:
Volver, by Pedro Almodovar. also, Amores Perros, by Alejandro González Iñárritu. Shows: Mindy Project, 30 Rock, Parks & Recreation
My life history in 5 sentences or fewer:
not 5 sentences but w/e: grew up in Latin America, went to school in FL and the midwest, moved to DC in search of a career in international affairs, working as a contractor for a technology firm, and enjoying life as it goes. love to dance, read, and meet people. empathetic, bubbly, and charismatic. looking to form strong friendships or a relationship and see where it goes from there.
My first concert / My dream concert:
Miguel, Ciara, Talib Kweli, Common, Kanye West (yes, him), Rihanna (yes, Rihanna, she's got some good songs!), Pitbull, Beirut...I have a strong taste for urban music.
Obscure knowledge I possess:
Urdu language basics
I have a weakness for guys/girls who:
make me laugh (major plus). are bold and confident but not cocky. ambitious but considerate and realistic. can dance - not a big requirement but it would be awesome to have a dance partner to go out with. so many creepers around town... ^.^ not necessary: have an interest in international affairs or politics/economics as well as in quirky activities in DC.
For me, a first date no-no is:
being a jerk. you know, the usual.
I secretly want to be:
a public policy leader. alternates: an interpreter at the UN or the next Christiane Amanpour/Soledad O'Brien. different paths but both equally rewarding. publicly, I want to be: happy.
I want to be with someone who wants to be:
someone who has a zest for life. who is ambitious, positive, joyful, and who approaches life as an adventure. i am always impressed with someone who is full of enthusiasm and who surprises me.
An infatuation of mine:
If I won the lottery and quit my job, I would:
move to South America/buy a house in Miami, start my own business/ social venture, travel, and write.
I want to come home to:
a big bear hug.
