What sports to you enjoy participating in and what sports do you enjoy watching?
I love to bike. I bike everywhere in the city. That's why I called myself urbanbikerchick. I also love skiing and snorkeling. I enjoy watching baseball and ice hockey.
An awesome place I've visited:
I love to travel to new places. I am adventurous and like to go to places that are off the beaten track. I was recently in Uruguay, Buenos Aires and Rio and love St. John in the Virgin Islands.
My perfect Sunday:
My perfect Sunday starts with reading the NY Times on my terrace over breakfast or meeting my grown "boys" for brunch. I love to spend time outdoors and attend a hip hop class and work out at the gym in the afternoon. Dinner with family or friends is a pleasure.
The movie I've watched the most times:
I rarely watch movies more than once because I love to see new ones. There are so many great ones to see. Full Metal Jacket is the movie that made the biggest impression on me.
My life history in 5 sentences or fewer:
I was born in NYC and have lived here all but the 8 years I was in Philadelphia for college and medical school. I was married for 27 years. I am a devoted mother to two boys ages 21 and 19. I am also a mentor/2nd mom to 5 black and brown "bigger boys" from public housing who are now in their mid twenties whom we met in Tompkins Square Park playing baseball.
My first concert / My dream concert:
Classical music at home on the radio brightens my day, I find it really peaceful. In contrast, I love the hip hop music at the many dance classes I attend so I always listen to the songs from our routines on my iPhone when out and about.
Obscure knowledge I possess:
I possess a lot of knowledge about the female reproductive tract. Hope you saw I am a gynecologist!
I have a weakness for guys/girls who:
respect womankind and have real and lasting commitment to the people and children in their lives and in their work and interests.
For me, a first date no-no is:
I like a guy who puts some thought into what the first date is.

Getting straight A's at BMCC.

spend time with family and friends, travel, volunteer and take classes. I'd probably still go to work too because I love it!

That she thought I was crazy at first to welcome 5 strange boys into my home that she now has a very special relationship with.
