About OrigamiPirate

An awesome place I've visited:

The Alhambra in Granada, Spain

My perfect Sunday:

Having coffee in bed, reading a book, with the cats curled up nearby and someone reading a book of his own next to me.

The movie I've watched the most times:

I am not sure but it's between All About My Mother, Xanadu, Hairspray (the original), All About Eve, and Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.

My life history in 5 sentences or fewer:

Born in Miami, FL to Cuban immigrants. Moved to New York City to attend college and study theater. Have lived in New York City for nearly 19 years and divide my time between my theater work (I write and produce plays) and my day job (Exec Assistant/Office Manager). I live in Brooklyn, NY, with two cats named Seaweed and Lulu.

My first concert / My dream concert:

First concert was U2 touring for Achtung Baby. Dream concert . . . hmmm . . . I still haven't seen Bjork or Antony and the Johnsons . . . maybe a double bill?

Obscure knowledge I possess:

I know way too much about Tori Amos, Stephen Sondheim, and have way too many recordings of La Traviata. I also seem to remember who was in what movie or what play and when people won Acadamy Awards.

For me, a first date no-no is:

Lack of curiosity.

What I would bring to show and tell:

My fan letter from Stephen Sondheim when I was a teenager.

A story you should remind me to tell you on our first date:

How I visited Stephen Sondheim's apartment on my first trip to New York.

I secretly want to be:

A cabaret singer with an act.

I want to be with someone who wants to be:

Chefs, artists, architects, yogis, gardeners, musicians, teachers . . . please say hi.

An infatuation of mine:

Rugby player Ben Cohen

If I won the lottery and quit my job, I would:

Make sure I invest the money so I don't have to worry about the future, buy real estate, and take myself on vacation.

One thing my mother would want you to know about me:

I'm a catch.

I want to come home to:

A kiss . . . and dinner . . . God, it's been forever since I came home to dinner.
