Was a jazz musician in New York and San Francisco until I decided I needed to come to DC and work on national security and terrorism issues. Found my life's work, and it's thrilling every day.

My first concert / My dream concert:

First one was Paul McCartney in 1989, followed by a stream of great summer shows in Jersey. Then, in New York, I'd see at least 6 or 7 jazz shows a week. But that was homework then!
