About JamesIsaac

An awesome place I've visited:

The Biltmore house. They have secret doors and Napoleon's chess set and lots of other awesome stuff. We should go on a road trip.

My perfect Sunday:

I work running the sound and making music for our startup church plant, so Sundays are kind of like work for me. Not really, because the payoff is so much better than my job. But a perfect Sunday for me is: beautiful weather, not too hot or cold or cloudy; everything goes well and everybody's in a good mood; spending time with genuinely caring people who I know have my back no matter what happens; plenty of time in the afternoon to relax and enjoy the day, maybe go downtown to the park or throw a Frisbee or

The movie I've watched the most times:

Ernest Goes To Camp. I swear my brother has it memorized by now.

My life history in 5 sentences or fewer:

Dad met Mom. Found out he had two girlfriends. Broke up. Got back together and got married and he sold his three motorcycles and his mint '64 'Vette to buy a station wagon to haul kids around in. Here I am.

My first concert / My dream concert:

On the sidewalk in front of Uptown Downtown in Greenville, using a discarded makeup table from Belk's. Unless of course you mean a concert that I attend? Then I'd have to say that I'd really like to go to Passion this year if possible.

Obscure knowledge I possess:

The life cycle of the flounder. At least, most of it. I read the first four volumes of Funk & Wagnall's encyclopedias when I was about 7. I was an odd child.

I have a weakness for guys/girls who:

Talk shop about music. Or films. Or literature. That works, too. Charitable causes are always a plus, as well.

For me, a first date no-no is:

Booze.

What I would bring to show and tell:

A jaw harp, through a guitar amp. My brother and I figure that since nobody else has attempted it yet, then we should. I think it would sound epic, in an incessantly annoying way.

A story you should remind me to tell you on our first date:

About my Mom's proposed coyote deterrent.

I secretly want to be:

On stage again. I haven't played shows in several years.

I want to be with someone who wants to be:

Authentic, with excellent self-understanding. Someone who doesn't think too much or too little of themselves. Someone who wants very deeply to know and to have life to the fullest.

An infatuation of mine:

Trader Joe's

If I won the lottery and quit my job, I would:

Pay off my bills and help out anyone that I could with their hardships, then invest the rest in a worthwhile way to exponentially help even more people.

One thing my mother would want you to know about me:

That I'm loyal. More than just faithful, she would tell you that I have a kind heart that defaults to thinking the best of people.

I want to come home to:

A best friend who gets all my inside jokes; who understands me when I've had a bad day, even if I don't feel like talking right then; who knows how to enjoy life moment-by-moment; who believes that the highs and lows of life all add up to something greater in the end.
