How about we… Go see Henry V ... I've been in the DC area for a while and haven't seen a play yet. Need to fix that.
How about we… Go for a ride on one of the local trails (Capital Crescent, Rock Creek Park, Mt. Vernon, etc.) and grab some lunch / dinner along the way or afterwards.
How about we… Capitals Game - Catch a home game and then some dinner at a nearby restaurant. Assuming I can find tickets in time of course. :-)
An awesome place I've visited:
I'm not sure it was awesome ... but I've been out to the West Coast for work twice. Death Valley, CA was certainly interesting. I'd like to eventually travel more on my own or with someone special - haven't done much at the moment.
My perfect Sunday:
Intimate time with someone special in the morning, getting brunch somewhere in the city, shopping & browsing in the city, maybe a movie, dinner out or cooked at home.
The movie I've watched the most times:
I haven't exactly kept count. Contenders are: Star Wars Episode IV (the first one), Contact, For Love of the Game, Jeremiah Johnson, WarGames, Gladiator, Braveheart, Jerry McGuire, Blade Runner, Last of the Mohicans, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Empire Strikes Back, Star Trek II, etc. etc.
My life history in 5 sentences or fewer:
1. Went through public school as an under-appreciated geek ;-) 2. Started college at Marshall University in Computer Science, got tired of failing Calculus, and changed majors to History. 3. Worked as a substitute teacher & part-time sports reporter back in my hometown for three years. 4. Went back to school for a Masters in Information Systems (also at Marshall University) - which led to a job with a software company in Huntington, West Virginia. 5. Was moved here (College Park, MD) for a contract with th
My first concert / My dream concert:
I'm not a big concert-goer... I would like to go to a Rush concert sometime tho' This doesn't mean I wouldn't go to a concert with someone. I just don't go to many by myself. Technically, I saw the Beach Boys once as a Boy Scout. It wasn't much to get excited over.
Obscure knowledge I possess:
My head is full of computer (Windows PC, Linux, Mac OS X) knowledge and leftover pieces of history knowledge from my earlier life.
I have a weakness for guys/girls who:
are attractive but don't realize it.
For me, a first date no-no is:
Not looking like your pictures, constantly checking the phone, and not allowing the other person to talk.
A story you should remind me to tell you on our first date:
You could remind me to pick any one of a number of stories about the various strange people I work with.
I secretly want to be:
I often wish I was alive for, and participated in, the Revolutionary War / Constitutional convention / formation of the US etc. Then I remember that the average life expectancy (unless you were wealthy) for an adult male at that time was between 30 & 40 - which means I'd likely be dead at my present age. That's when I snap out of it and am glad I'm alive now ;-)
I want to be with someone who wants to be:
happy and fulfilled - whether that's in her career, personal life, or all of the above.
If I won the lottery and quit my job, I would:
Manage a scholarship fund to help students escape West Virginia & the Appalachian region. This is in addition to the usual "buy homes for family members" and the like.
One thing my mother would want you to know about me:
that I'm honest, loving, kind, and usually wearing clean underwear.
I want to come home to:
a quiet and relaxing home.
