How about we… run around town. I'm visiting from Seattle and looking to explore the city/bars/shows. The less touristy the better :) I'll be around from 5/15-5/20.
How about we… do some touristy things to show this Manhattan girl all about Boston.
How about we… Take a camera and tripod to touristy area and pretend we're doing a pro model shoot for a hoot.
How about we… Have a nice dinner and walk about the town, or go for a drive and do something so touristy its cheezy!
How about we… Take a 3 hour tourist ride through Manhattan on one of those double decker touristy buses.
How about we… I'm new to San Diego so I would love to do some touristy things here. Y'know, the Zoo, Sea world, visit Coronado Beach, then hit up the gas lamp for a good restaurant.
How about we… do something touristy that you or I have never done in Chicago?
How about we… We do something touristy that neither of us has done before, then grab a beer.
How about we… Go on a touristy speed boat ride around Manhattan.
How about we… do something touristy...

I went to Catalina Island a few years back. Off the coast of Los Angeles, it's a beautiful island that is the perfect getaway within the US. It's not a "destination island" that mounds of people flock to over the summer months...it's very quaint, and one can definitely have a nice vacation away from it all without all of that "touristy" crap. Being in NYC, you know how irritating running into tourists on a daily basis can be.
Shiretoko National Park and the surrounding area in Hokkaido, Japan during the summer. I'm not a tree-hugger (I prefer hugging people), but the nature is beautiful up there— and it's also less touristy.
kinda cheesy but the touristy places up at cape ann north of boston
I like driving around Los Angeles to areas I haven't been or haven't seen for awhile. Many people think in order to get away from LA you need to travel out of state, well for me it can be achieved by visiting a part of LA you haven't before. Sometimes I like to house hunt in canyons or places with ocean views but not too touristy.
in the city, doing great New York things; then outdoors hiking, camping, etc.; then traveling to some non-touristy place. Someone who wants to be continuously learning new things.
Koh Jum (non-touristy Thailand island) Siem Reap, Cambodia, Gili Trawangen, Indonesia (perfect desert island island)
Probably a day at the flea market, a beach, or some cheesy touristy town, a fancy dinner, and then watching a film at home with some wine.
Hainan, the island off the southern coast of China, for a look at real, not touristy, China.
Travel the world. But I wouldn't want to do touristy travel. I would want to go to places and truly experience their cultures. Kinda like Anthony Bourdain does on No Reservations.
Isla Mujeres, Mexico. It's an island right off the coast of Cancun, but it's relaxed and not touristy like Cancun at all. It's very beautiful and perfect for vacation
