How about we… go to my expansive and empty rooftop, lay out a cozy blanket, and stare at the sky in the dark and chat.
How about we… max and relax at the beach-themed rooftop bar at the Dream Downtown hotel.
How about we… Meet at the rooftop at Gene's in Lincoln Square.
How about we… have a glass of wine on the rooftop at Birreria.
How about we… find the best rooftop bar for a drink and enjoy the weather before it gets too hot.
How about we… go to a rooftop bar for an early dinner and take pictures of the $1B view while tourists on the top of Empire State are trying to make pictures of us. Don't forget your professional camera :P.
How about we… go for a drink on a rooftop patio in the beach and take a stroll on the boardwalk...
How about we… check out the new rooftop beergarden Tavern 29 (ummm, when it stops raining).
How about we… Explore and take photos at the rooftop installation called 'Cloud City' at the Met Museum.
How about we… Have drinks on the Met's rooftop and take a walk in the "clouds" (according to Saraceno)

I was born and raised in NYC, so I've seen and done a lot around here. Suggestions below are, for the most part, activities I haven’t yet tried but would love to experience. Drop me a line if any of them are of interest to you. 1) Check out Sunday Night Film Club at The Crosby Hotel http://www.firmdale.com/index.php?page_id=31&sub_page_id=161©_page_id=588 2) Have a drink on the private rooftop garden at the Surrey Hotel http://www.luxist.com/2010/06/03/the-surrey-hotel-debuts-a-rooftop-english-garden/ 3) ride the new thrill rides (including Steeplechase) at Coney Island's Luna Park (http://www.lunaparknyc.com/) then grab beer and pizza at either (or both) of NYC's arguably best pizza restaurants - totonnos/L&B Spumoni Gardens) 4) Check out a spa castle (5 floors of Korean massages, saunas and pools) - http://nyspacastle.com/eng/main/main.php 5) Take a Zipcar and drive up to Walkway Over the Hudson (former railroad bridge spanning the Hudson that has been transformed into one of the longest pedestrian bridges with magnificent views of the Hudson River) http://www.walkway.org/ - could also be combined with drive up to Bard College (beautiful campus, concerts, etc) 6) Hasid Meets Hipster Meets Girdle Store – start off with a quick walk around the Lower East Side (Donut Plant, pickle store, girdle store of your choice) then over the Williamsburg Bridge to explore Williamsburg (Hasid and Hipster sides) 7) Behind the Scenes Tour of Yankee Stadium or Citi Field 8) Take a Zipcar and drive up to Hunter Mountain for their new Zipline adventure (http://www.huntermtn.com/huntermtn/summer-activities/zipline.aspx) 9) Take Metro-North to New Canaan to see Philip Johnson’s Glass House 10) Explore Old Westbury Gardens http://www.oldwestburygardens.org/ 11) Zipcar out to Atlantic City for the day 12) ping pong and drinks at www.spinyc.com 13) Walk the newly opened Section 2 of the Highline and then check out Beer Parc and Grimaldis in Limelight Marketplace 14) see Luis Gispert's Decepcion at Mary Boone Gallery http://www.maryboonegallery.com/ 15) Enjoy a cocktail at XVI rooftop lounge in midtown - www.xviny.com 16) Check out the Greenwich Village Country Club - a "caddyshack" inspired playground complete with indoor mini-golf course (on top of Bowlmor Union Square) 17) Check out the Ipad based cocktail ordering system at Gowanus, Brooklyn cocktail emporium Whiskey, Tango Foxtrot - wtf-brooklyn.com 18) grab a drink in the East Village (Death & Company, PDT or The Summit Bar)
I've moved to New York in the last few months for work so would really like to explore the city with someone, i like pretty much anything so surprise me! Last weekend I ended up going from a hotel rooftop to a house party in brooklyn to a rowing boat in central park before ending up at my first baseball game (which i loved!).
First: Tori Amos at Constitution Hall in DC, 1994. Dreams: U2 filming "Where the Streets Have No Name" on that rooftop in LA, 1987. Fleetwood Mac recording their live reunion "Dance" album in 1997. Seeing Japancakes play anywhere, because they haven't released anything in a couple of years and I'm afraid they broke up but MySpace won't tell me anything.
books, shower radios, Vietnamese food, rooftop bars, warm weather http://thoughtcatalog.com/2012/how-to-have-the-best-summer-ever/
a couple are: rooftops, rube goldberg machines, grilled cheese sandwiches, technology, origami, art, bridges and ellipses...
Knowing a lot about the fabulous water towers that are on the rooftop horizon of New York City.
I predict the weather myself (how hard can it be?)... I have no idea what I'm looking at when I look under the hood of my car... Pet Peeve: people who stop walking when they exit a revolving door- what, are they dizzy?... Cheetos: Yes. Caviar: No. Proof that there is a God: when all my socks come back from the laundry... I don't think I look that good in hats, but then again I'm not the one looking at me so it's not really my problem (tho i have often heard i look much better in person- you be the judge ;) I'm Ivy League educated and like to feed my brain by reading the NewYorker, listening to NPR, jazz, going to Rooftop Films and The Moth and watching PBS. But I also love 24, The Wire, Rescue Me, Things to Do in Philly, How I Met Your Mother, Arrested Development and some junk reality programming. I do get out of the house: going to the gym, movies, karaoke, trying out new restaurants, walking in nearby riverside park, traveling, cheering for my Mets and Jets, sailing, and golf. I have a passion to learn (next on the list: i'm going to play ice hockey). I'm realizing that the older I get the more dreams I have. I gave up practicing law to become a psychologist because I want to use my powers for good, not evil ;) Now, when I introduce myself to people at parties I give them two reasons not to talk to me, but I'd love to hear from you....
Grew up in & still happily live in the suburbs outside of NYC. Lived in Las Vegas for a bit and wandered some uninhibited rooftops of a legendary hotel & casino. Work more than 9-5 but learning when to walk away. Love going to concerts and sharing new music. Hope to one day put some stamps in my passport.
