This will be much much more than 5 sentences... sorry. I'm funny, smart, motivated, and kind. I promise, if nothing else, we'll have some laughs. I'm an open book. I'm easy going and friendly. I am polite and kind, but I also don't sugar coat anything. I am aware of my strengths and shortcomings. I'm of the belief that those shortcomings are really what makes me who I am. It is a person's flaws that make them unique. I'm a "glass half full" person. I always look at the bright side. I'm just aware that the glass probably wouldn't be all that interesting if it were completely full. I'm very passionate about everything I do. If I eat a great meal, I EAT THE HECK out of that meal! I'm the same way with music, art, work, love... you name it. I'm definitely a creative type. I love to write. I studied English Lit in college and never put it to professional use. After college I toured the country in a van and sang cover songs to college kids. I always wanted to be a rockstar, and part of me still does. In 2012, I have already begun to try to get gigs and play some live music. My first gig in many years is on May 19th! I'm a good guy. I follow my heart before my head, which sometimes gets me into trouble, but in retrospect, I like it that way I'm a geek of all trades. I love and immerse myself in things such as technology, music, movies, and books. I'll probably beat you at Jeopardy, but despite my large vocabulary, you'll probably beat me at Scrabble. I like to stay active but don't love the gym. I'd rather be playing basketball, riding a bicycle around Manhattan & Brooklyn, playing paintball (the best exercise, by the way) or some other physical activity that involves more than just me. I don't watch too much television, but I DO love my Sunday night cable shows. From Mad Men & Breaking Bad to True Blood & Game of Thrones to Californication & Dexter, Sunday nights are my stay home and veg nights. I like to drink socially. You'll never find me at home alone with a drink, but I sure do enjoy getting silly with my friends on occasion. I've got a great and varied group of people in my life and value each and every one of them. I'm by no means a foodie, but I DO love to have a great meal. I'm on an ongoing quest to find the best fresh yellowtail sashimi in NYC. Any tips? I prefer bars and cocktail lounges to clubs. Although I'm beginning to get back into electronica, the club scene just seems so cheesy to me. I'd rather be drinking prohibition style cocktails at Death & Co. or playing pool, darts & pingpong at Fat Cat over some beers than glamming it up at Cielo. I believe that children are the future. Teach them well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they posess inside. Give them a sense of pride to make it easier. Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be.
Mad Men (Im in advertising)
Drinking wine while watching Mad Men and Weeds.
Born in London, moved to Newcastle upon Tyne and then ended up in Manchester - I'm well traveled in the UK. Worked in advertising in London before I moved to New York to try and be in Mad Men.
born in brooklyn during the summer of sam, 2 minutes before my identical twin. moved to hicktowtn western maryland and presented, as one of three jews in town, presentations about hanukah with menorah shaped cookies every year. moved to new jersey to miserable high school experience but found punk rock and had d.c. bands play in my garage. went to wesleyan, lived in rome and london, wrote about film, went to grad school, produced documentaries, films in rikers' island, became a travel writer and went to macau, mexico, and more, became a film distributor. now i produce films, live in brooklyn, ride my bike, cook food, explore new york, love my friends, work my ass off, and watch MAD MEN.
I like great food and great TV shows, right now I'm watching Mad Men and catching up on the last season of Breaking Bad.
I grew up in NJ before fist pumping became a thing. I went to a basketball crazed university and graduated with a degree and a borderline obsession with March Madness. I now work in advertising and if Mad Men were to do a special episode where they jump to 2010, it would have to be called Mad Women.
Life's a journey and I intend for it to be a good ride. I've changed careers 3x before finally settling on work I love. Whenever I can, I travel to exotic places to sightsee, hike and scuba. I have great parking karma and terrible flying karma. I'm addicted to "procedural" shows like House, Law & Order, CSI, period dramas like Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire and must admit sheepishly to having a penchant for really awful reality shows (can you say schadenfreude?). Not much of a sports fan other than an annual superbowl family fest, but love to be outdoors, especially with my camera, and practice yoga and play tennis regularly when I can. I am one of those women who buys cars based on color, cupholders, and power windows and couldn't care less about the actual engine. I hate people who walk across the whole sidewalk in NYC and then stop short, but I always help out a tourist in need. I love cooking and every kind of cuisine and would choose a great meal over a new outfit every day of the week. I see lots of movies, high brow and mass market, don't read a daily paper, but catch the headlines so I at least know what is going on and read tons of books. I don't want to ever stop learning and trying new things and strive to balance success in the hum drum of everyday life with more adventurous interludes. Looking for someone who shares some of my interests and wants to share some of theirs with me.
I was pretty adventurous in my 20’s…I went to the Peace Corps and traveled to over 45 countries. Now I’m pretty settled in New York for the moment, but I still love a good adventure. I'm more intellectual than pop culture, but I need brain candy regularly to break things up. I love reading Malcolm Gladwell but like to mix it up with Mad Men and Jay-Z. While I love spinning and yoga, I also love other activities...especially ones I did growing up like bowling, bike riding, skiing and golfing. I am always game to try new activities.
