Gym Class Heros
Grew up in NJ and still live here, but love the city (and the beach). I took early retirement 11 years ago and am so busy I wonder how I had time for a job. Divorced years ago and have two wonderful childlren and four incredible grand kids (1 & 1 and 2 & 2 respectively). I am tryig to squeeze the most out of life and am affraid I might miss something or someone. Each day starts with coffee, the paper, the gym, and then...................
This will be much much more than 5 sentences... sorry. I'm funny, smart, motivated, and kind. I promise, if nothing else, we'll have some laughs. I'm an open book. I'm easy going and friendly. I am polite and kind, but I also don't sugar coat anything. I am aware of my strengths and shortcomings. I'm of the belief that those shortcomings are really what makes me who I am. It is a person's flaws that make them unique. I'm a "glass half full" person. I always look at the bright side. I'm just aware that the glass probably wouldn't be all that interesting if it were completely full. I'm very passionate about everything I do. If I eat a great meal, I EAT THE HECK out of that meal! I'm the same way with music, art, work, love... you name it. I'm definitely a creative type. I love to write. I studied English Lit in college and never put it to professional use. After college I toured the country in a van and sang cover songs to college kids. I always wanted to be a rockstar, and part of me still does. In 2012, I have already begun to try to get gigs and play some live music. My first gig in many years is on May 19th! I'm a good guy. I follow my heart before my head, which sometimes gets me into trouble, but in retrospect, I like it that way I'm a geek of all trades. I love and immerse myself in things such as technology, music, movies, and books. I'll probably beat you at Jeopardy, but despite my large vocabulary, you'll probably beat me at Scrabble. I like to stay active but don't love the gym. I'd rather be playing basketball, riding a bicycle around Manhattan & Brooklyn, playing paintball (the best exercise, by the way) or some other physical activity that involves more than just me. I don't watch too much television, but I DO love my Sunday night cable shows. From Mad Men & Breaking Bad to True Blood & Game of Thrones to Californication & Dexter, Sunday nights are my stay home and veg nights. I like to drink socially. You'll never find me at home alone with a drink, but I sure do enjoy getting silly with my friends on occasion. I've got a great and varied group of people in my life and value each and every one of them. I'm by no means a foodie, but I DO love to have a great meal. I'm on an ongoing quest to find the best fresh yellowtail sashimi in NYC. Any tips? I prefer bars and cocktail lounges to clubs. Although I'm beginning to get back into electronica, the club scene just seems so cheesy to me. I'd rather be drinking prohibition style cocktails at Death & Co. or playing pool, darts & pingpong at Fat Cat over some beers than glamming it up at Cielo. I believe that children are the future. Teach them well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they posess inside. Give them a sense of pride to make it easier. Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be.

Hollywood gossip. (Though I only read US Weekly and People at the gym. I can better justify my reading choices that way.)
Found out I was diabetic about 2 years ago. Lost 80 lbs since. Just joined a gym to lose the rest of it, so that's taking up a lot of my time now. * I'm very shy and outgoing (sometimes both at once). Majorly sarcastic, a bit too honest for my own good. * I've been involved in the public BDSM scene for over 6 years. The Kink and the Queer communities are a big part of my life and who I am. Whoever I'm around needs to understand and accept that, but not necessarily participate.
Me in a nutshell - fun-loving, thoughtful, hard-working, outgoing and energetic. I'm addicted to NPR and yoga, but not at the same time. Here’s a little secret between you and me, I occasionally stop off for cupcakes on my way home from the gym. I mean, if you had Crumbs Bakery on your way home, can you honestly say you’d pass that test? Here are some more of my favorite things: driving, traveling, museums, food festivals, wine, rollerblading, live music, U2, yoga, eating out, swimming, books, football (and futbol!), sushi, arm wrestling and bowling (just kidding about the arm wrestling, but bring it)
I grew up in Texas outside of Dallas.. I studied mathematics at a liberal arts college in Memphis, Tennessee. I moved to New York to teach, and currently teach in the Bronx. I have worked ever since it was legal at the following places: Tom Thumb, Pizza Hut, my college gym, as a resident assistant, and at a New York public school, all of which have provided me with humorous stories to share.
Drinking bad beer (coors lite is piss water, so if you like it, don't bother messaging me) Being fat - If you are, you should probably be at the gym and not on a dating site. Being worthless - If you're 28 and living out of your mother's basement with no career, you should just ... I'm not going to finish that sentence. Men who drive automatic sports cars - You should NOT be proud of pushing 300hp with an automatic transmission... You're either overcompensating or spent a lot of money on a car you know nothing about.
Running shoes: the only way to keep me running and inside the gym is to buy new ones every few months.
