The $10 bill I asked Salma Hayek to autograph at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival in 1997. It was a good story.

I was born and raised in upper Northwest DC, went to NYU for video production, studied abroad in South Africa, worked in freelance video in New York, spent a year at a community media center in Appalachian Eastern Kentucky and now I'm back in DC. I produce web videos for a public-health non-profit. I love checking out local film festivals, art museums, and other cultural events.
I was in a movie called "How To Grow Your Own" it will be shown at the Tribeca Film Festival.
I grew up in Moscow and New York City, playing the piano and with computers. I went to school in Pennsylvania, and as a diversion from my studies, I spent a great deal of time on political activism, organizing film festivals, and enjoying performance arts. I worked in Boston, Hanover as a techie, and Moscow as a journalist, before moving to San Francisco for inspirational tech work.
Upbringing in pastoral Massachusetts (think apple orchards, summer camp, high school parties in the woods). College in New York City. Post-collegiate interlude in San Francisco working for film festivals and arts organizations. Followed by triumphant return East, to Brooklyn.
Major trips from 2011 - Ecuador & Bonaire, Caymans and Cozumel for scuba diving - think diving is turning into an addiction. Just got back from Sundance Film Festival and skiing in Park City. Need to figure out where else to go in 2012. Suggestions?
Been road tripping solo around North America for the past 20 months, putting nearly 50,000 miles on my stellar car. Volunteer every year at Sundance Film Festival. Snow and heat camp. Canoe. Swing dance. Read. Write. Take lots of pictures. Trying to hit all the National Parks and California Historic Landmarks. Come from a nice family. Career from current to past: Layout designer, Director of Informal Education, Principal, Teacher, traveler, student, zygote. Lived overseas, around California and on the east coast and am currently looking for a lovely place to settle in to.
