Serria,
I know how much you love nerds, but I am a nerd and feel as if we are style challenged. Help! Are there sites that can show me entire outfits to buy? I’m clueless! What should I wear on my dates?
I understand that everyone doesn’t have an amazing sense of style, and it can be hard to put together a look that shows your personality and makes you look completely fuckable at the same time, because at the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about as a single person. (Kidding, but not really. You know.)

When it comes to outfits, I’m the laziest woman around. I hate shopping for clothes and it’s not uncommon for me to go to a store and pick the outfit right off the mannequin. Stylists get paid good money to make that look, why should we reinvent the wheel?
First, you must define your style. If don’t feel like you have one yet, go classic — a t-shirt/blazer combo, nice jeans and sexy shoes are perfect. You don’t have to look fancy, but you should have to look like you’re excited to go out.
For online shopping, try the men’s dressing room at H&M. Pick the model with the skin tone closest to your own and play around with looks. If you don’t know where to start with looks, check out the look book on Zara Man. Zara is one of my favorite stores it’s where I always bring men when I want to make them over. The pieces are affordable but not inexpensive, and they’re also great quality. They’re clean, classic, and stylish, without being trendy. Trendy is a hard habit to maintain and it has to be replaced each season, and who has time and money for that? The best part about Zara is that they also have some of the sexiest men’s shoes I have ever seen outside of the Gucci, Prada dynasty.

My smartest tip requires a little time but is well worth the effort. Find inspiration for the look that you want from Zara and H&M and then go to 21 Men, Forever 21’s men’s website, and see if you can find the piece there for less money. Forever 21 is a cheap store with mediocre quality, but since you are new to the fashion world, I don’t want you to have to invest in your look until you find the one you really like. My husband has two identical jackets — one Gucci and the other Forever 21 — and it isn’t as easy as you think to tell the difference.
If this is too much effort, go into one of the store and have the sales girl help you. They love this type of stuff. If you go early when the stores first open, they’ll be free enough to give you lots of personal attention.
Once you have a look, don’t forget facial grooming. I’m not one for niche market looks — I’d like you to be as marketable to as many people as possible. For example, a uni-brow is not as marketable as two distinctive eyebrows. Right? Wild beards do not appeal to as many women as a clean-shaven face. Brad Pitt looked clean-cut and classic when he met Angelina Jolie, but now that he has her, he can experiment with his looks more freely.

Working out helps you feel better and gives you more energy which is great for dating. And a good body is awesome, whether you’re a nerd or not!
Finally, find a good scent of cologne that compliments you. Women love men that smell good but for some reason (unbeknownst to me), some men like to stink. Get into the habit of wearing light cologne every day. As with the clothes and style, don’t commit immediately to a new scent. Try it out utilizing the samples and avoid the most popular one. You don’t want to remind your date of the last guy she went out with!
The Bunny Tail (The bottom line, what you should do next):
If you want ladies to treat your date like a special occasion and put their best foot forward, make sure you do the same. Avoid dating confusion by telling your date what you would like to do and what type of crowd to expect. If you tell her it’s a trendy bar, she’ll know to dress up a bit. If it’s a chill dive bar, she’ll know she can dress down. That will put her, and you, at ease.
