You know Curtis Mayfield from his hits like “Gypsy Woman,” “Super Fly” and “People Get Ready.” We’re giving away ten tickets to “Here But I’m Gone: A 70th Birthday Tribute To Curtis Mayfield“, a special presentation at Lincoln Center in New York City this Friday in honor of the funk legend, who died in 1999.

This show is going to be bananas. The Roots will be there, along with The Impresssions, Mavis Staples, Sinead O’Connor, Tunde Adebimpe, and more, to offer their own interpretations of Mayfield’s work, under the musical directorship of Dinky Griptite (of Dap Kings).

The prize package also includes free champagne at Arpeggio, near Lincoln Center.
