I was on Huffington Post’s homepage today, and found something depressing in the section titles: Living, Health, DIVORCE, Arts, Books, Religion, etc etc. Uh, are we forgetting something, HuffPo??

Headlines in the DIVORCE section today include “Brooke Burke On Blended Family Myths” and “Meredith Baxter On Why She Stayed In A Bad Marriage.” This would be a hilarious April Fool’s Day joke if it A) were a joke, and B) weren’t so depressing.

What does this say about us as a society that DIVORCE gets so much attention, that we prioritize reading relationship disaster stories above stories about finding love and marriages that work?

Women are lonely, men are irresponsible, sex is cheap, DIVORCE: Has there EVER been a generation that, at such an early stage of adulthood, has been so completely fed up and pessimistic about finding love?

Something is wrong here; something that came naturally to our grandparents and their grandparents has been lost on us. One thing’s for sure: if we’re focusing on DIVORCE instead of love, we need an attitude adjustment.
