HowAboutWe is new to DC, so for some inspiration for our Break the Dating Rules Contest, we turned to the experts at CityStream.
Here are their top picks for dates that involve eating with your hands in DC.

Sauca to Me

Get down and dirty sampling world cuisine from the Sauca food truck. Track
Sauca’s three mobile kitchens on Twitter and stock the one nearest your most
romantic location of choice (steps of the Portrait Gallery, anyone?) then order up the
oozing Mumbai Butter Chicken-it’s nutty and spicy, just like you.

You Had Me at Kimchi

It doesn’t get cooler than a bar named after an Iggy Pop song, but add kimchi dogs
into the mix at The Passenger and you’ll come off as hip and carefree (Utensils?
Please!) But just to show you’ve got some class, you’ll want to get at least one of the
bar’s specialty cocktails too; owner, sommelier and cocktail-maker-extraordinaire
Derek Brown is one of the best in the biz.

(Honey) Wine & Dine

Sure, you can’t pronounce anything on the menu, but you’ll shed inhibitions quickly
during a night at Dukem Restaurant. After a few sips of their signature honey wine
(don’t let the sweetness fool you), not only will you be digging in to the platters of
tibs with all five fingers and a bit of injera bread, you may even join the live belly
dancers on stage. Late night shimmying not your thing? Come on a Sunday morning
and catch the restaurant’s traditional Ethiopian coffee roasting ceremony.

Now, go propose your own eat-with-your-hands date!
