Will Your Favorite NYC Bar Be Open This Weekend? Check This List!

The thought of staying in your apartment from 9pm Saturday night to 9pm Sunday morning, as Mayor Bloomberg is advising, is pretty unfathomable, but with the subways shutting down at noon tomorrow, will your favorite bar be open?

We called a bunch of bars in the NYC area to check and see what their hurricane contingency plans are. We’re going to keep updating this list: if you know of a bar that will definitely be open (or closed!), let us know!

High Dive in Park Slope: Open, and bumpin.
Madame Geneva on Bowery and Bleecker: Open Saturday Night
169 Bar, East Broadway: “Hurricane Central: Come before the sign blows away!”
Sake Bar Satsko on 7th between B and C: Open, serving food and drinks!
Rodeo Bar, 375 3rd Ave: “Yep, rain or shine.”
Plan B in Prospect Heights: Hurricane Party!
Donnybrook, Clinton Street: “We do not close, we are not afraid of hurricanes.”
McSorley’s, 15 East 7th: Yes!
Swift, 36 East Fourth: Yes!
The Stonewall Inn, 53 Christopher Street: “As far as I know, yes…but that’s not very far.”
Kettle Of Fish, 59 Christopher Street: “We’ll see…we only close on Christmas Day and we’d like to keep that record.”
DBA, 1st Ave and 2nd: Yes!
Rudy’s Bar And Grill, 637 9th Ave: “Yes. As long as the hurricane doesn’t flood New York City.”
Pete’s Candy Store: Open!
Schiller’s 131 Rivington: Yes!
Tom and Jerry’s: Planning on it!
Macao Trading Company, 311 Church St: Yes!
4th Avenue Pub: Assuming, we’ll be open, as long as Brooklyn doesn’t blow away!
Pacific Standard: Barring any major power outages, etc.
Karaoke Boho on Orchard: Yep!
Beauty Bar: Open and throwing a party, apparently!
Lure Fish Bar On Mercer: Open! (“I don’t care if water’s running down Mercer Street.”)
Uptown Lounge: Open and having a hurricane party.
Clandestino on Canal Street: As of now, yes.
2A on Second and A: Yep!
7A: Open, serving drink specials
Lil’Frankies: Open Saturday!
These Bars Are Still Deciding
Loreley: Saturday morning definitely going to start working, and see from there.
Professor Thom’s on Second and 14th: Definitely open Saturday, “should be” open on Sunday but playing by ear. Update: Closed.
Mission Dolores on 4th: Playing it by ear. Update: Closed
Union Pool Hall: Probably.
The Commodore: Probably.
Spring Street Lounge: No idea.
Culture Fix, 9 Clinton Street: Still deciding. Bartender doesn’t seem to think anyone else in the neighborhood will be open.
Hot Bird, 546 Clinton Ave in Brooklyn: Not sure, playing by ear.
Brother Jimmy’s, UES: “We have no idea.”
Doc Watson’s: Not deciding until Friday night.
Definitely Closed
Radegast 113 North 3rd Street Closed Saturday and Sunday.
Fort Defiance, Red Hook: “no idea, but probably not.”
Brooklyn Brewery: Closed.
Manitoba’s: Closed
West 3rd Common: Definitely closed on Sunday, tentatively open on Saturday but subject to change.
Spitzer’s Corner 101 Rivington: Open Saturday, closed Sunday. Update: $5 Dark and Stormy special on Sat!
Bubby’s DUMBO: Closed all weekend.
Brooklyn Bowl: Closed all weekend.
Zum Schneiders, Avenue C: Closed for sure.
10 Degrees, St.Marks: Definitely closed on Sunday.
The Frying Pan: “Closed Sat and Sun for Hurricane prep/rideout. See you on the other side of this.”
The Lot/The Lot On Tap: Closed all weekend.
68 Jay: Closed.
Little Owl in the West Village: Closed on Sunday.
ReBar in Dumbo: Closed….for a wedding.
